The Dig is located on a working ranch, and the resources we have available for RVs are limited. Therefore, this information and these policies are to help you have an enjoyable time and keep everyone safe. We look forward to your participation in this upcoming season.
- There is a $10 per night charge for RV camping with hookups. Dry camping is free.
- Quiet time is from 10PM-6AM camp time. All guests should be courteous to other guests by ensuring noise levels are acceptable, even during the day. No loud music, loud TV, or shouting.
- There are a limited number of RV sites that have water, sewer, and electricity. The sites have 30-amp service. Site #1 is 50’ from the electrical box and site #7 is about 200’. Beware of the amperage drop. It is recommended for sites 6 & 7 to draw no more than 20 amps.
- Be careful pulling into your RV site. You will be driving over the temporary electrical and water line. If you have any questions, please ask.
- Stay on the road whenever possible. Please minimize driving on the rangeland. The grass is an important resource for the ranch and its operation.
- We love animals. For the safety of everyone, please keep your pet on a leash when at the field station or in the RV park. Pets are not allowed inside the field station. Please clean up after your pet in the RV park or near the field station. Supervise your pet and minimize barking. Beware that there are snakes and cheat grass. Remember to check your dog’s paws after walking. There is plenty of space for you and your dog to enjoy a walk. Plan on taking time to enjoy being out in nature.
- There is not a trash/garbage service. Plan on packing out your trash/garbage. If you see trash/garbage lying around, please pick it up and dispose of it.
- No fires, fire rings, or fireworks allowed.
- Please keep your campsite clean and organized. It gets windy and your items may blow away; secure anything that is left outside your RV. It is not recommended to leave awnings extended when not at camp.
- If you have any questions, please ask. We want your time at the Dig to be memorable and enjoyable. This is a special place.
- Finally, we are guests of the Hanson family. This ranch is their business and home. Please care for it as if it was your own and leave it in a better condition than when you arrived.
